GARDEN TO VASE 25-26 Sep
GARDEN TO VASE 25-26 Sep
This garden-to-vase workshop covers the core skills required to create a range of naturalistic arrangements. You will have the opportunity to experience the beauty and variety of garden flowers through their organic forms, textures and colours, to learn about the plants our flowers come from and to reject hierarchy, making arrangements with everything from chickpeas to Chrysanthemum.
The garden puts on a firework display of colour and texture as the flower-growing season comes to a close - speckled Hydrangea, lime and russet Actaea and Nandina foliage, luscious dahlias, glowing rosehips, swathes of ornamental grasses and mouth-watering handfuls of tomatoes, crabapples and squash.
Two days are organised into four sessions:
Garden hand-tied bouquet
Flowers for the table
Scalable vase design
Free-style creative session
You can expect:
Clear demonstrations of practical techniques
In-depth examination of seasonal ingredients, including how they were grown, cut and conditioned
Exploration of design theory including colour, shape and texture
Relaxed open group discussions on a variety of topics from gardening to event work
Friendly and constructive feedback on your work
