FLOWERS & PHOTOGRAPHY 14-15 Aug
FLOWERS & PHOTOGRAPHY 14-15 Aug
Over the last decade we’ve taken tens of thousands of images of flowers and gardens, as well as shooting a book (coming 2026!) Whether you are a hobbyist or a professional wanting to build a digital portfolio or social media account, in this workshop we'll be sharing everything we know about taking evocative, atmospheric photographs of arrangements, from placement and backdrops to working with natural light and editing.
In advance of this workshop attendees will be asked what style of arrangements they would most like to practise and capture on camera. A range of beautiful flowers and foliage will be harvested and prepared for each person based on their preferences for colour and shape. All materials come from our diverse cutting garden in Hampshire, so you can expect to see extraordinary and exciting seasonal ingredients in your buckets!
We’ll be covering basic settings for manual photography including iso, aperture and shutter speed, with demonstrations on Nikon and Canon DSLRs as well as iPhone. You do not need a professional camera to join (a smartphone will suffice!) but are very welcome to bring whichever camera and lenses you feel most comfortable using, as well as a tripod if preferred.
